The Real Property Appraisal Division is charged with locating, identifying and valuing all taxable real property and personal property within the Municipality in order to provide a fair and equitable basis for taxation.

By definition Real Property (real estate) is land and improvements to land, such as buildings, structures, fixtures of any kind thereon.
Real Property falls into three major categories:

Business personal property is composed of tangible assets, other than real property, held for use in a business. Taxable business personal property includes, but is not limited to; inventory, supplies, furniture, fixtures, equipment, leasehold improvements, and rental furnishings.

Property auctions are held on the courthouse steps at certain times. These auctions include delinquent tax sales from the Jones County Tax Commissioners Office and foreclosed property sales. The Clerk's Office does not have and cannot provide any details on these auctions. The Clerk's Office can provide property record information consistent with our office operations.
